With over a decade of experience in yoga instruction and leadership, Sam has honed her expertise through teaching and running yoga studios worldwide. Born on May 15th, 1989, in central New Jersey, Sam's journey into yoga began as a path of personal transformation, deeply rooted in her rebellious spirit and shaped by her academic pursuits. Graduating from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011 with a degree in Political Science, Sam's education fueled her passion for social justice and motivated her to drive change. Sam holds both 200-hour and 300-hour yoga teacher training certifications, and she further honed her skills in Mysore, India, training with the Jois family in Ashtanga yoga before the pandemic. Her extensive study of yoga has taken her to India, New York, Los Angeles, Denver, and New Jersey, enriching her teaching with diverse perspectives and practices. For over a decade, Sam has not only built Bodhi Yoga Academy LLC but has also hosted over 30 domestic and international yoga trainings and retreats across the globe, from Nicaragua to Costa Rica, and from New Jersey to Colorado, reaching seekers in diverse corners of the world including Germany, Portugal, Morocco, Ireland, the UK, Italy, Indonesia, and Thailand. Sam co-founded a donation-based nonprofit yoga studio in Boulder, Colorado, with her partner Irene Pappas, offering inclusive yoga teacher training with sliding-scale tuition. In 2018, she launched Rocky Mountain Clean and Green, advocating for fair wages and ethical practices. Inspired by her journey, Sam is a fierce advocate for survivors of domestic abuse, child abuse, and sexual assault, empowering them through her yoga practice and advocacy. Her journey is one of resilience, compassion, and a relentless pursuit of justice. Sam continues to defy the status quo, forging her own path in yoga and social entrepreneurship, making a lasting impact on the lives she touches.
